Separate these parts of the surgical discussion
| Incisional plan | Ask the clinician to explain incision placement, scope, how tissue is handled and the scar discussion. |
|---|---|
| Non-incisional plan | Ask which exact technique the clinic uses and why it is proposed for your eyelid condition. |
| Additional operations | Discuss the purpose, need and cost of any additional operation, such as ptosis correction, separately from crease surgery. |
| Recovery schedule | Confirm whether stitch removal is needed, the follow-up visits and departure timing for your actual plan. |
Compare the proposed operation
Incisional and non-incisional plans should be explained for your own anatomy. Ask who operates, which additional procedures are included and how the estimate could change after examination. Avoid accepting an added procedure solely because it appears in a package.
Budget for reviews and recovery
Confirm tests, anesthesia, medication, follow-up visits and any suture-removal arrangements. Discuss your departure date, work and exercise plans with the surgeon. Written instructions and a contact for concerns are part of the travel plan.
Frequently asked questions
Can a photo consultation determine the final technique?
Photos can support an initial inquiry, but they do not replace the assessment required to confirm a surgical plan.
